Each piece is safe for use in the microwave, oven, freezer and dishwasher because the artists carefully select their clays and bake them at the searing temperature of 1,230 degrees Celsius (2,246 degrees Fahrenheit. The artisans coat all colored patterns with a transparent, protective glaze in order to prevent rubbing, wearing, and food from sticking. The exceptional colors are chosen according to Polish custom and include a unique, vibrant mix of cuprous greens, cobalt blues, and ferrous, reddish browns that encourage liberal integration with other patterns. The stoneware is neither radioactive nor does it contain cadmium or lead.
